Thank You For Helping Adhere to Standards
Geniac, It's a pleasure to know that you have an objective viewpoint of content. Your looking into "Carlos Manzano" and helping maintain civility and etiquette will make Wikipedia a better source for everyone. But I ask you to examine users "Westie2" and "Manzano2005" who disguise to include misleading, false and meaningless information. Check them out for new user names. Wikipedia:Articles for creation/2006-06-13
"It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia:Articles for creation/2006-06-13." It was my intention as the article in question exists. Both myself and Michael Herbert who added the entry here have edited the existing page. MichaelW (talk) 03:42, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Are you kidding or what?
I can understand asking me to log in, that was a mistake on my part, I sometimes forget when the correction or addition I'm making is very small. In terms of re-writes or large additions I always remember to login. I understand that even though it was my own userpage I should have logged in so users can assist administrators in avoiding these kind of problems, but all I did was take out the word "and" then added a "coma" in it's place! Whether that was me or not does not constitute "vandalism" in my opinion and more than likely under the opinion of the majority of Wikipedia users and the average person. I think that the term vandalism should be used when applicable, which in this case it was not. Even if the user was not the one who made the small change, any changes to userpages such as spelling mistakes or grammatical errors should never be labeled vandalism. I understand under Wikipedia regulations that making changes to any userpage that is not your own must be addressed, but at the same time administrators should be aware of their language and tone, being that a word such as vandalism may be taken as an insult or a disrespect when one is dealing with intentions that had no malice or ill will intended within the action, in this case a slight correction of grammar.
In other words I'm basically saying you should always address what needs to be addressed, but in this case the use of better or more appropriate wording or phrasing would be suitable. At times it is a lot easier to offend someone than most think. Unless there "true or honest" vandalism occurs then that word should not be used. Maybe the terms or phrases, "unsolicited or unwanted changes", possibly "inappropriate changes", but "vandalism" is bit harsh when none has occurred.
Not to mention it was my userpage, but once again I understand it was my fault for not logging in, MY BAD!

The Comma
I made more than one correction, my first correction was to take out the word "and" in one of my sentences and then replace it with a comma. After you mentioned it, I do remember making that small addition, "and quite possibly the power from the shadows", my mistake. No problem anymore, my useprage has been erased! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.83.187 (talk) 02:25, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Policy for deleting
I don't understand why I am being threaten with a deletion of my account for "deleting". Perhaps someone in my family or their friends did, but I thought if something isn't correct or doesn't fit in an article, it *should* be deleted. What's the policy for that so I can stop receiving threats about things I have not done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.151.230 (talk) 11:42, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to be a pain
its just that the two "three rivers OR's" are in adjoining counties, maybe 45 miles apart. I live here right in between them and I think people get confused enough who are locals. I have no problem with any format you are working with, I just hope we can continue to make the distinction clear. 66.220.110.83 (talk) 20:33, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I see youve been poking around in my students pages... thanks! Ive been looking as well and Im not too pleased with the quality of the work... They can write better than this! Oh well, The deadline to fix these is Tuesday and Ill just be giving out 0s like I warned them I would. After looking at the settlement infobox, Im going to revise this assignment to include a table of info that is best done in the infobox... or a template... like coordinates!!! I dont really understand them and the sentences they wrote with those are a pain.
I plan to have my teachers class look at these next week to make improvements and in 2 weeks Ill have students go back and edit one that they didnt write.
Again, thanks for your help.Thelmadatter (talk) 20:48, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Removal of 2005 Talk Page posting
Hello Geniac:
I just noticed you posted at a Talk Page for an IP address beginning with 64.181. You wrote, in part, "at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to User talk:Facts@MT.org, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed."
Could you explain a bit more about Wikipedia policy that led you to revert that? I am not questioning the edit, I just want to understand better the policy and/or precedent behind it.
Thanks,

I wish you will add back the stuff to that page. Everyone knows that I'm Lookin'[3] hit number 66 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts and that its from the Elektric Blue album. Also, If I Was Your Girlfriend is from the Lovechild album. Another thing is that Cam'ron and Nicole Wray's song "Do Ya Thing" did hit number 65 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Fianlly, Stand Up is the name of her new single. [4] Please put it back or i will get another admin to do so. Soccermeko (talk) 22:09, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Edit to User:Grawp
What level of notability does it take to apply another ban template to a user? He was banned from a fairly large wiki, and it is evident that he is a pointless vandal, seeing as he hit a wiki that details raids and other trolling issues. We were sending him a warning. Re: Tellabs page
Hi, Geniac. I am new to doing a WIki entry. I am trying to learn with this Tellabs entry. Yes, I am Howard Wolinsky. Formerly of the Sun-Times. I took a buyout in January. I am freelancing now. Just had my first article in the Chicago Tribune feature section last week and have another coming this Tuesday. I can add footnotes per your request. There is an article for every one of those cites. I thought the history of the company was pretty interesting--and not a PR piece. How can I best upgrade this entry to meet your standards? HWolinsky123 (talk) 23:55, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Reverend Zen
I appreciate your concern Geniac for copyright infringement involving the Reverend zen article, but I can assure you the text copied was not under copyright law. Also, I am a client of Jack Evans and have been asked to spread the word of his music. Again, I don't think the text is under any copyright law, and I ask you to give me the okay to put the text back on. If it is copyrighted, I believe I could get consent from him to do whatever with the text. Please write on my talk. Willisis2 (talk) 3/16/08
Stupid
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Stupid, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 14:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Reverend zen
I appreciate you giving me the Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission site. It will be difficult (more than I would bother) to get consent since Jack Evans told me that the the website was created and possibly copyrighted by Blackjack Records and I would have to go through their legal department. Thanks anyway. Willisis2 (talk) 20:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC).
What?
you have given me a warning due to a revert I made on The Black Wall Street Records page. The revert was to the sourced page. - The image might be gone by now, I downloaded that picture years ago. Either way, the image is spread throughout the web, for example, here: [5]. I should have made it more specific, sorry. - The revs on my part are perfectly valid, as I am only doing what's right. It is injustice to kill a file when it could simply be merged to the better one. Why can they not become one with each other? Why must the lesser one die? Are you the sort who supports executing someone just because they have three legs? Executing a jpg image just because pngs are superior is just the same as that. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 01:02, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Actually, though you're right that it's not reccommended, episode articles can be used as references when the need arises. I forget what was supposed to be cited, but in Chris Griffin's article, there was a statement, which another user removed, asking that they (who put it in) please cite the episode in which it occured. Eric Cartman's article also has a few episodes cited. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 20:55, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- But can't an episode, when cited, have a link left to its corresponding Wikipedia entry? Wilhelmina Will (talk) 03:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC) BTW, on Image:HandsEvangelista2-resize.jpg, even though it is replaceable, until a free-use image of Carla --- whatever her last name was --- is found, the image can stay, right? Deletion of 4,000 Years Old Ancient Chinese Bronze Images
Go ahead with the deletion. All the bronze pictues I uploaded got the approvals from the owner and I have attached the email from the owner too, if anyone can read the history of the images page or the files. From time to time, I got deletion tags and I have explain again and again and again how and from whom I got these pictures. The type of the tags had been changed at least 3 times too. Despite that, finally, they were all deleted now. Happy? you won? So, the only thing I try to say is that, you can delete the pictures, but you can not detroy the real 4,000 years fine bronze piece in China, and they are still there. Please read all the deletion notifications on my talk page and continue to abuse wikipedia's deletion friendly policies, continue to distort wikipedia and continue to turn wikipdedia into a coldwar machine! Enjoy your deleting creative works from the user outside of Europe or North America! Dongwenliang (talk) 17:12, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

- By the way, I already deleted that image. So you don't have to wait so long to see its disappearing. LOL, maybe you regard this as vandalism. I think you are a hypercritic. Discussion about removing my edit in an article.
While I understand the necessity for citing information, the information I provided was accurate. What kind of citation do you need? To quote individuals is to endanger their (or their children's) futures (in this instance), and I am not about to put anyone in harm's way. The truth of the matter is that parents need to be informed. Numerous letters have been written to the school and the school district about the matter. Fair use rationale for Image:HardeeElectionFlyer.jpg
Is this image in the public domain or is it copyrighted? --Geniac (talk) 01:14, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not very experienced in Wikipedia, but I'm not really clear what the problem is, especially as the piece was given Good Article status with the image in place. As far as I'm concerned, the poster image is in the public domain. It was an election flyer given out freely to people in the street and sent to people through the mail. The late Malcolm Hardee, whose election poster/flyer it was. never claimed any copyright on it. I knew Malcolm; I was there when the poster was created by him; I was there when he sent out the flyers; I co-wrote his autobiography with him. From the Wikipedia message, I gather that somehow Wikipedia regards it as being copyrightable.
In that case, I can only point out that no-one claims copyright on it. Malcolm Hardee, the would-be copyright owner, is dead. The Estate of Malcolm Hardee actually supplied the image to me and not only accept its use on Wikipedia but do not claim any copyright on it. As far as they are concerned - and no-one else can possibly own the copyright - the poster/flyer and any image of it is in the public domain and can be freely used by anyone anywhere. The image itself is so small it cannot be copied to recreate the original poster in any sensible way. But I'm not sure what the problem is. If it is in the public domain, there is no possible copyright breach. If it is copyrightable and the intellectual and actual copyright owners say they do not claim copyright on it, then there is no possible copyright breach. Have I gone haywire somewhere? I apologise for not being Wiki-savvy. I'm not being difficult; I'm just confused and bemused. --Thejohnfleming 13:06, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for sorting that out so quickly, Geniac; I'm grateful --Thejohnfleming 13:57, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
