Corey Clark

Hi. An anonymous user keeps reverting changes made by myself and others to the Corey Clark article, including non-NPOV material that I have deleted, inserting an image whose source and copyright info is challenged by another editor, and inserting notes on that image's source into the article's Intro, which is not appropriate. I've tried speaking to this person on their Talk Page, but they do not respond. Any help? Thanks. Nightscream 15:47, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

The vandal in question continues to insert his POV material into the article. His response to me on his Talk Page was of the typically incoherent and fallacious variety, and he has indicated that he will continue to revert the article "back and forth" with me for as long as I do. Nightscream 19:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Geniac, i have sourced numerous times the appropriate links to any material i've added to the corey clark page. what is happening however is night scream see's only his opinion as being npov, and no one elses. The trouble with that is his point of view is biased towards idol and abdul. any changes he makes are to paint clark in a false light. for instance, a wquad story that nightscream himself added to the article said nothing about Clark fighting with his manager, it said that clark was in a food fight with her, and that they both had minor injuries to their arms, scratches is what the story says. he purposley left out the word food and left the word fight, to make it seem as if clark was fighting with this woman. All of his edits are negative towards clark and only share with the world his and idols thoughts and opinions about this young man and not the facts. The facts remain that idol and abdul publicly denied it, and clark and other contestants verified it. So where do you draw the line? At his and idols opinion or mine and clarks opinion. At the end of the day everything that ABC Put out on their special about clark and abdul was true, otherwise they would not have aired it for fear of the humongous lawsuit that would have been waiting for them at the end of the aired special. They verified and re-verified time and again everything that i've sourced to avoid just this thing, people mistaking facts for opinion. IT'S A FACT THAT ABDUL PUBLICLY ADMITTED TO HAVING 3 AND 4 HOUR TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS WITH THIS YOUNG MAN AT ALL ODD HOURS OF THE NIGHT BUT SHE COULDN'T SAY OR VERIFY WHAT IT WAS THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. The only thing i've done is put up the FACT that she publicly admitted to this. There are multiple eyewitnesses whom all came forward on the ABC special to tell the world that they saw Clark and Abdul being intimate together in a public place. It's a fact otherwise ABC wouldn't have aired it. It's a Fact that other season two contestants were backing clarks claims of an affair on national television, it's also a fact that these contestants also expressed their fear of backing up Corey Clark on national television due to threats that idol made of lawsuits against them. Everything that he doesn't have a problem with in the article basically to get to my point, reflects Clark in a negative light. And I've left all the negative there, since the beginning when i found this article it was %100 against clark, i left those point of views in place and added some positivity to even the article out, the only time someone has had a problem with my edits is when i say something good about this young man, and that's not right. There are too many facts supporting Clarks claims, and these people keep erasing them for fear that someone might actually find out the truth that idol and abdul have been lying this whole time. There are waaaaaaaaaaay more facts, evidence and eyewitnesses to support Clarks story than there are on idols side whom really just want this to go away. Please don't allow him to erase my edits again. Any changes i've made are sourced and i've referenced them. Now i'm not completely computer savvy so i may not be formatting all of my edits right, but that's when people like you can come in and say hey this is how you make the link blue instead of red, or really avoid all of that and just fix it yourself because that's what wiki is all about. I'm sorry i've talked so long but i'm completely frustrated with nightscream and the innappropriate way he continues to try and negatively portray clark, for god's sake the kid just slept with somebody he didn't kill anyone. I am going to revert the article back to the way i had it before, which includes all sources, and i would appreciate it if you, not nightscream could go through and make a unbiased decision on where the article should lay, and i'll leave it like that, like i said before i've left all negative things in the article, i don't change other peoples edits, i just add my own facts that have been proven not only by clark but by abc, other season 2 contestants and eyewitness accounts of the nature of this dispute, which is did he poke her or not, all the evidence and facts that exist point to yes he did poke her, there are evidence and facts, not just statements. Abdul and Fox's press release on the situation is a statement, that was created by them. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY FACTS, EYEWITNESSES OR EVIDENCE to come out and debunk clarks claims in the manner that they have, they count on people like night scream to just run with what they've said without needing proof, it's just their word no proof after they got done investigating themselves. Which in actuality what did anybody expect them to say, yes she did it, they are worried about their bottom line not how much they or abdul have affected this kids personal life and career. Now if i were just coming on here making edits due to only Clarks statements like nightscream is doing based on idols statements, than i too would be wrong. But i'm not, i'm basing my edits off of clarks evidence of abduls property which he couldn't have gotten without her knowledge or consent (i'm sorry i don't buy the he dug around in her trash story), his knowledge of the interior of her home and body which she didn't dispute she just said that it violated her privacy somehow, which i'm sure it does, eyewitnesses who saw them romantically involved with eachother in public, an ABC producer whom witnessed abdul beg clark for hours on his speakerphone to not tell the world about their relationship, his family were witnesses to phone calls to their home made by Paula which the phone bills corroborate and finally a reputable news agency ABC reporting the truth, unlike the integral fox network with the whole oj book thing (which is my own opinion and i wouldn't put my opinion in an article) i mean come on where there is smoke there is fire. And Idol and abdul are looking mighty smoky right now. Fox's statement also said (and i'll end here) that the networks attorneys "COULD NOT" substantiate any evidence or claims made by witnesses provided by clark to prove that any dealings with abdul (because she did admit to phone conversations with clark only due to the fact that she couldn't get rid of the bills) had no affect or outcome on the show. The words COULD NOT stand out to me big time, they never called him a liar, it was very carefully worded, and they didn't say he didn't provide evidence to substantiate his claims, only that THEY COULD NOT SUBSTANTIATE the evidence and eyewitnesses he provided, which reads to me like they weren't allowed to substantiate his claims cause the people payin their checks say they can't. When Abdul was asked about what they were talking about for hours at a time at 2,3 and 4'o clock in the morning all abdul could say was it wasn't personal and it wasn't about the show. Well that pretty much covers all of life don't you think, there are only two aspects to life, work and play, and if you weren't working or playing than what were you doing for that long, no answer?, well than the evidence provided by clark supports his claim of a relationship with her during his time on the show since idol or abdul have produced nothing but words to discredit clarks evidence. In one link that night scream keeps erasing the president of fox actually avoided a question when asked if abdul would be fired if found to have been involved in misconduct during the season with clark, to which the president of fox answered the sanctity of this competition is first and foremost...and his quotes continue essentially saying no if we can keep our cash cow grazing that's what's important to us not if the cow was out sleeping with a young bull. I know i'm paraphrasing and not sticking to directly what he said right now, but in the article i simply post the link so people can make up their own mind about it, and night scream keeps erasing it. It's almost like he's paid by idol or something to do this, i've heard of big corporations hiring people to just sit and blog about an artist all day, whether they are paid to say good information or bad, they do it all day long, and for night scream to have such a negative editing history on clark, it seems this guy is paid to keep making him look bad and erase anything that could potentially lead to someone liking clark. have a good night, i promise i'm not vandalizing, i'm just not going with the flow on this one, because i'm not a cattle, or a sheep or another dumb animal that just does what all the other animals are doing or accept, no, i have a mind of my own, and in my mind, and in the real world COREY CLARK HAS PROVEN HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH EVIDENCE AND FACT, And Abdul and Idol have done nothing but blow hot air and spend money to make it look pretty. If wiki is about the facts than i'm sure the article will look very similiar tomorrow to the way i leave it tonight. Take care. And what is so wrong with saying that SOUL TRAIN IS A LEGENDARY SHOW? It could be a matter of opinion until you look at the fact that soul train is the longest running syndicated show in the history of television, and had it's stage graced with multitudes of multiplatinum legendary soul singers who've all created hit songs and sold millions upon millions of records. I guess it's not fair in nightscreams eyes to give clark that credit. Even though it's fact.

Hi, Geniac. I will not take up a lot of space arguing whether the evidence for the affair makes it conclusive, since that's up to the reader, and not up to WP editors to opine within the body of articles. I will, however, touch upon only the behavior that has been attributed to me by ClarkFan (for want of a better name, since User:69.180.238.139 has not chosen one for himself). First, in editing/reverting the material about the food fight between Clark and his manager, I have consistently made it clear as such, but in one recent edit, accidentally omitted the word "food". I acknowledged this mistake when ClarkFan pointed it out to me, re-inserted it, and acknowledged this to him on his Talk Page, before he even wrote the above post here, which you can see for yourself on that page. Second, ClarkFan says that I keep erasing a source for a comment by the President of Fox. I've done no such thing. The source in question, http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2005-07-29, has remained in the article throughout all of my edits, which you can see in looking through the article's History. What I deleted was the description of that link that ClarkFan provided inside its reference tags: "IMDB story in which Fox network President Peter Ligouri states that the sanctity of the competition is more important than proving or disproving if Abdul had an affair with a contestant while he was on the show". I would also point out that I left in material that he contributed regarded Clark's career, have conceded his point that Clark should not be called an "aspiring" singer, and so forth. The only material I have edited or deleted were the personal comments and non-NPOV flourishes he added to the article, and to the sources that did not support the material they were placed after, such as the Drudge Report link that did not mention anything about prescription medication. Most of the material regarding the evidence of Clark's affair, in fact, has been left in. It is merely the conclusions that ClarkFan reaches about them, which he seems to think should be placed in the article, that I've edited out. Nightscream 18:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

by the way geniac have you seen nightscreams page? What i suggested before makes a little more sense now. Remember on my other post to you when i said that it seems like this guy is being paid to negatively paint clark in a false light as he never inputs anything positive into the article about clarks career or personal life and erases anything positive about clarks career or personal life that is inputed into the article as well, and that big corporations like fox and american idol sometimes hire people to blog and go to chat rooms and either positively or negatively talk about a project or person all day long to bolster or damage that person or products outcome? Well it just so happens that nightscream himself posted on his page that he works for a marketing research company, the same type of company which someone like fox or idol would pay to discredit or give more credit to a project or individual at multiple online web sties or blog spots, kind of like wiki. just wanted to point that out, makes more sense now, to me anyway being in entertainment all my life you see these types of things go on all the time. It's sad that we just can't have the truth on this article. take care. 69.180.238.139 16:26, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

  • when i said this, i take fact for being the truth, cause there are always sides to stories, but when you have fact that is the ultimate truth, so by truth i meant i wish we could have all the facts on this article like we do now instead of just someones press release that's being stated as fact. thanks take care 69.180.238.139 11:52, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Discrediting or crediting someone would sound more like the role of a PR firm or private investigator. Market research firms, on the other hand, do just that: They research the perception of consumers in a particular market. The company I work for is a part of Nielsen, and concerns itself with test screenings and press screenings of yet-to-be-released movies. My job is to recruit people to come to free research screenings of films and give their opinion of them (positive or negative), or to fill up seats at press screenings, and to be on staff at said screenings. All of my work is done in the New York City area, and I've never been to the West Coast, where Idol is produced, nor have I ever worked for Fox, or had anything to do with the television industry. Where you get the idea that any of what I do in my job has anything to do with Clark or Idol (or why I'd point out that I work for a m.s. company on my User Page if it did), and that market research companies "credit" or "discredit" people, I have no idea. Odd bit of ignorance for someone who's been "in entertainment all [his] life". Nightscream 19:06, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Geniac, the protection tag on the article says it'll stay there until the "editing disputes are resolved." I don't know if there is a prescribed procedure for this other than consensus, and since 69.180.238.139 is impossible to talk to, I'd appreciate if you'd weigh in on the various points that he and I are "discussing" on that Talk Page. I apologize for responding to him on your Talk Page, which I won't do again. Thanks. Nightscream 04:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Geniac, given that I am now having to explain to him what the word "alleged" means, and how it's properly used, how he simply doesn't know what a "fact" is, that he's now lobbing childish insults at me, and even (doing some slight) editing of my own posts, I really don't think this is going to end with any understanding between the two of us. He simply does not care about a single WP policy, despite his statement of trying to learn. He has an agenda with this article, attacks anyone who challenges this agenda by upholding WP policy, period. I don't think there's anything constructive in this. Let's end this, shall we? Nightscream 14:42, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
  • those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. self explanatory. p.m.queef attacked me long before i even knew how to attack him, i came on the talk page to see him childishly attacking a new editor, me, on wiki instead of trying to help me figure things out, he has no obligation to help me, but don't cry about childish attacks when you are the initiator i'm simply showing you how it feels to be talked to like an imbecil, how does it feel? 69.180.238.139 19:49, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

8============================~'pting

Geniac, I would appreciate it if you would weigh in on the six points I outlined in my recent post on the Talk Page, and pending your thoughts on the matter, I would ask if there is some decisive action we can take to resolve this, such as asking for a consensus of other editors, for example. Thanks. Nightscream 14:26, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Geniac, can you respond, please? Thanks. Nightscream 18:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. I've never heard of that policy, and I'm interested to learn about it, as I am whenever I learn about a new one. But just out of curiosity, why haven't you weighed in with your own opinion on the points being discussed? Nightscream 01:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

I wrote a few articles on a beauty pageant and someone named cocelan is going around saying that they're false and that it's run by me, when it isn't. He's giving a bunch of false information which is unfair.

I did or atleast I tried to. It's very disturbing to have someone making such false accusations.

Bend High School Edit

I just wanted to let you know that you deleted unsourced material from Bend High School (Bend, Oregon) a few days ago. The material I contributed was awaiting sources from an archive, and was in no way inflammatory. I understand that it sounded that way, but I had no intentions of doing so. I restored the material, and included that citations were needed in the section. If you still do not like the material, please message me on my name BeanoJosh. Thank you.

Page Merge

I am in the process of collecting data for two separate pseudonyms of a British producer, his work is quite separate for the two names and feel that two pages should be maintained on WP. There is a case for a merge if there is a significant overlap in the information or if a page is very short and cannot or should not be expanded terribly much. Currently there is an overlap on credited material as he is often credited twice for different roles on the same project, repeated background information however will be deleted as I get more data. The genres each name is moving into are further and further apart (from his own admission in a BBC Radio 6 Music interview 15/3/07), as a result I feel it would be beneficial to keep these pages separate so as to maintain relevance to the page that had been searched on, people can then click on his pseudonym or real name if they want to know more about his background. Let me know your thoughts. The articles are Mark_Maclaine and The_Silence_(producer). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jameslenton (talkcontribs) 00:34, 19 March 2007 (UTC).

Hi Geniac. I actually meant the page, Sydney Coach Terminal, its the page that a created. Thanks User:Mindys12345

The list of long distance walking trails in Australia was actually copied from that sight, so there would be no need to merge it. The reason I put it there is becuase that is the kind of info they provide backpackers at the terminal. It might be better for me to delete it. I have also taken out some of the other stuff that was in there, including all the photos. Would this be a sufficiant clean up. User:Mindys12345

Thanks for the suggestion: User Talk edits

Thanks, but I reasearched the policy on user talk page deletions before I did it and it is clear that the user pages are not subject to the same rules as articles. I prefer to delete the closed conversations rather than take up server space. Most of the user comments have been rather uncivil anyway so I prefer not to have them lingering around ruining my day. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Bduke also said that the article was strange becuase it deviated from the subject, which it probably did, so I have removed some of the info and some of the photos as well.
