Welcome!

Hello, Genghis John2005, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Also the article Age of Division sounds like it was copied from the book, A History of World Societies. Wikipedia can not except copyrighted text but if the article was written with the book only as a source that is ok. Please reply either here or on my talk page if the text is from the book. --Banana04131 22:15, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Givejesusmoney.com

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Givejesusmoney.com, by Slp1, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Givejesusmoney.com fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

non-notable website: see Beginnings section

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Givejesusmoney.com, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Givejesusmoney.com itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 11:05, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Test to the admin...is this where you wanted to talk to me or was it on your page? (I'm a bit thick)

[edit] My first Notification of Deletion

Still waiting on a response from sp1 or the admin....news at 11.

Hi Genghis, Sorry for the delay in responding. The problem is that Wikipedia does not have entries for everything and has certain criteria, including Notability, Verifiability etc. You can also find out about them at WP:SR. It didn't seem to me, or the administrator who the deleted the article, that the website was really notable. In particular, for websites, you should look at WP:WEB. If the website meets the criteria (ie non-trivial coverage in newspaper articles about the website, received an award etc) then you can recreate the article, but you should include that information and provide links to the independent sources that corroborate it. Good luck and I am sorry to bring you this bad news. I hope this experience doesn't put you off from contributing to WP in the future! Slp1 03:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi again Genghis, Thanks for your message and don't worry about making mistakes. We all do it! And as you say, the point is to learn from things and move on. Following some of the blue links at the top of the page would help you with some introductory information about WP and how to edit without being afraid of doing things "wrong". On your specific point, in general people ping-pong back between talkpages, with questions and comments being made on one and answered on another. But not everybody does that, as some people like to keep the whole conversation together. They usually have a note to that effect on the top of their page so that you know to go back and check. Anyway, now that you know it works, please feel free to leave a message on my talk-page anytime you need advice or help about anything and I will try to answer. Good luck! --Slp1 11:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
