I am the author of the following pages: Observation of the solstice by amateurs and Technical Facts Concerning The Observation of The Winter Solstice At Newgrange

The second page was created in response to an edit on the first page by Southockendon calling my attention to the apparent fact that the accuracy of determining the solstice in the Newgrange passageway was previously much better than I had allowed. The edit was welcomed - thank you.

The second page provides a much more detailed analysis of the current accuracy following modifications that were made after the site was discovered in the 1960's.
