Everything is sourced from their official website and Myspace. Kat, Queen of Typos 07:09, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm still working on the article, and am going to explain why it is notable. Kat, Queen of Typos 07:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have put in a section on their uniqueness, hopefully satisfying notability. However, I am still working on the article. Kat, Queen of Typos 07:23, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
You are using their own website and MySpace pages as the main sources, neither of which are considered reliable sources. If they have not released an album, charted on a recognized chart, or actually received a notable award (not just a nomination), then they do not pass notability standards for bands and the article should be deleted. - Again, they are notable for being unique in using holograms as their only "face" and using unnamed musicians. Kat, Queen of Typos 07:48, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Notability. Articles that seem to have obviously non-notable subjects are not eligible for speedy deletion unless the article does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the article gives a claim that might be construed as making the subject notable, it should be taken to a wider forum. Wp:csd Kat, Queen of Typos 07:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] In other words
I guess my point is that where before in history have you seen a band and not known how many musicians were in it, or even what instruments they play, let alone their names or faces? They are only represented by a fictional character. I don't understand how that could not be notable. I respectfully request a chance at more Wikipedians discussing this, whether through a full AFD discussion or whatever. Kat, Queen of Typos 08:15, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Live Earth Performance
This band played the Live Earth concert in Japan. See the official link [1]. This source describes Genki Rockets as
"..the brainchild of Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who heads up Q-Entertainment; the company created Genki Rockets exclusively for the video games Lumines II and Lumines Live, fashioning the vocals by sampling and then mixing together several female singers."
—Official Microsoft description, [Live Earth on MSN]
This fulfills Wikipedia's Criteria for musicians and ensembles (10) - "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc."
I am now removing the deletion tag from this article. Zylox 18:15, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- The article was indeed kept per its AfD discussion, but in the future, please do not remove AfD tags from the article until the discussion is closed. Thanks. — TKD::Talk 20:55, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- I was not aware of the separate AfD discussion page. My apologies. Zylox 12:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
