[edit] Merge

How about merging this to Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, seeing as the planet only makes a cameo appearance in Star Trek II, and is never seen again after its destruction?... As it is, this article is basically just a summary of part of the plot of Star Trek III. Morwen - Talk 10:09, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Explosion?

I don't believe the Genesis planet exploded at the end of Star Trek III. We saw an eruption from the surface but the curve of the planet itself was still in shot. I'd question the canonicity of the "explosion" of the planet. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Capt. Jeff Pierce (talkcontribs) 15:42, 29 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Should be its own page

This genesis planet page should be on its own. Not only was the Genesis device used also in the Starfleet academy video game, but the Genesis conversion in Star Trek II was a landmark in special effects (discussed on the STII special edition DVD) WhtKnight 14:42, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
