This article was proposed for deletion on the grounds that the article did nor assert notability. Another editor removed the prod tag almost immediately, before I even got a chance to respond. But here's my response: At this point in American history, riverboats — even reproductions like the General Jackson that use deisel power instead of the traditional steam engines — are a rarity. (Casino boats are another mater, but since most every casino in North America has its own article, that's really another issue, beside the fact that many riverboat casinos are docked all the time and don't even resemble riverboats anymore.) Pretty much any vintage style riverboat that sails today is notable for that very reason. Additionally, the boat is the last major attraction from the now-defunct Opryland USA theme park, which was notable in its own right. It also regularly cruises away from its home port to such events as Tall Stacks. The General Jackson is certainly notable enough for a short article. Realkyhick 20:34, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
