[edit] POV
I don't want to sound like a jerk, but "splendid performance" and "outstanding actor of our time" sounds awfully POV. --Feitclub 19:39, Sep 15, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect Link
Just so you know, the link to 'Night Moves' goes to a Bob Seger album, not the movie. --Aerothorn 05:23, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect link to movie
The link in Filmography to "Narrow Margin" that was released in 1990, incorrectly links to another movie called "The Narrow Margin" wich was released in 1952. Hackman didn't even play in the 1952 movie.
Yes, it is a redmake, but that does not make the link more accurate. Solbu. 02:03, 3 July 2006 (CET)
[edit] Filmography
Is everyone forgetting Hackman's role as the blind hermit in "Young Frankenstein"? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.84.113.95 (talk) 21:06, 7 January 2007 (UTC).
[edit] English heritage
Why do so many Wikipedians hate to see anything other than "Irish" in a person's ethnicity? There are literally thousands of entries categorised as Irish, most with no proof and relating to a relative going back generations. But when it comes to, say, English, Wikipedians insist that is too far back to be notable unless one or more parent was born in the country. Hackman has 25% English blood. That is more notable than having an Irish antecedant 200 years ago. Too much xenophobia and racism here. 195.92.40.49 17:49, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

- Readded after it was deleted. Those with some intelligence and a minimum amount of nationalistic obsession acknowledge that ethnicity is probably notable only when going back one or two generations. If one or more parent or grandparent is of a different race or nationality then that has some bearing on the individual. Half of the several thousand "Irish Americans" on this site rely on an antecedant going back three to ten generations and ignore any other race or nationality in their heritage. As you say, Hackman has 25% English blood. I'd say that was notable. 86.17.211.191 19:31, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- Can someone please provide a reliable source (WP:RS) for this if restoring it into the article? The source posted before was a blog. All Hallow's Wraith 08:25, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- The fact about living with his grandmother has been there donkey's years. We add that she is English and all of a sudden it must be deleted. why not add a {{Fact}} tag like most other unsourced claims on this site including the several thousand claims of "Irish"!! O'Wikipedia or what..... 86.17.211.191 19:46, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- I added a reference about the fact that he lived with his grandmother. All Hallow's Wraith 00:06, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
