[edit] Summary

Attendee identification buttons from Genericons 1 through 3, a science fiction convention at RPI.

Buttons scanned by Dave Pape. Original buttons had my name on them; I've replaced it by Amos Eaton, to make them more 'generic'.

Copyright on the buttons belongs to whatever soul(s) designed them in 1985-1987; presumably some member of the Rensselaer Science Fiction Association.

Fair use rationale:

  • the image is to be used for informational purposes in the article about Genericon, for which these buttons are more-or-less a logo
  • the image is of low-resolution, not suitable for creating physical copies of the buttons
  • the buttons were given to all attendees for identification purposes, not sold by themselves as artwork; there is no likely effect on commercial value
