Gennifer Choldenko

Gennifer Choldenko (born October 20, 1957) is a Newbery Honor-winning American writer of popular books for children and adolescents.

A native of Santa Monica, the Southern California coastal city adjoining Los Angeles, Gennifer Choldenko has, as of 2000s resided in San Francisco. Her first novel, Notes From a Liar and Her Dog was named "Best Book of the Year" by School Library Journal and her second, Al Capone Does My Shirts won the 2005 Newbery Honor citation. She is also the author of Moonstruck: The True Story of the Cow Who Jumped Over the Moon and other works, which have been translated into eleven languages.
