General elections in India

The General elections in India are the elections by which the Indian electorate chooses the various members of the Lok Sabha in the Parliament for the next term of five years. The electorate also indirectly votes for the Prime Minister as the leader chosen by the majority party or the majority coalition becomes the next Prime Minister.
The General elections is the largest election exercise in the world. With the advent of EVMs, the election process has become more secure and fast.
