General Post Office

The term General Post Office is or has been used by a number of postal and telecommunications governmental administrations worldwide, including:

- Ireland: General Post Office is the name of the main post office in the Republic of Ireland, which was the headquarters of the 1916 Rising, see General Post Office (Dublin)
- Australia: The General Post Office in each state or territory capital city was the headquarters of that colony's postal services prior to federation in 1901. Today, the General Post Office refers to both the headquarters of the postal services of each state or territory, as well as to the building which either now houses or in the past once housed the main post office for that state or territory, including:
- India, It is the term for the headquarters of a postal circle. General Post Office, Mumbai is the HQ for Maharashtra postal circle, PIN code 400001.
- China:
- Shanghai: The General Post Office in Shanghai is the headquarters of the postal services in Shanghai, with a major part recently refurbished as the postal museum.
- Hong Kong: General Post Office is located in Central. It has the headquarters of Hongkong Post.
- United States: the general post office is called the General Mail Facility and it serves as the primary collection, sorting and distribution point for a given area.
- James Farley Post Office is the General Post Office for New York City.
- Malaysia: the Kuala Lumpur General Post Office is the central post office of Pos Malaysia.
