General Motors Diesel Division

General Motors Diesel Division was once a unit of General Motors and manufactured products like locomotives, transit buses and military products.
The locomotive unit was acquired by private investors, transit buses General Motors Diesel Division Buses by TMC and GM Defense by General Dynamics. The engine making unit later became Detroit Diesel and sold to DaimlerChrysler AG in 2000 (now a unit of Daimler AG).
GMDD's Canadian operations were renamed as Diesel Division of General Motors of Canada Limited in 1975.
