General Electric Railcar Services Corp. (GE Rail Services) is a distinctive business unit from their Rail Engine manufacturer.
GE Rail Services, based in Chicago[1] , is a leasing business with primary focus on railcar leasing. In addition to their core business, they also operate an intermodal unit leasing company and three railcar repair shops. GE Rail Services is a part of the larger GE Equipment Services business which includes European operations as well as the well known Penske Truck Leasing business. All of these are wholly owned by General Electric. This business is also a member of the larger GE business GE Equipment Services.
GE Rail Services operations are currently limited to North America. However, they have recently publicized their desire to expand to Brazil, China, and India.
GE Rail Car Services' CEO is currently Jay Wileman.
