From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Genelec, founded in 1978 by Ilpo Martikainen and based in Iisalmi, Finland, is a manufacturer of active loudspeaker systems especially for professional studio recording, mixing and mastering applications. In 2002, Genelec introduced a range of home cinema loudspeakers.
The company has been acclaimed[citation needed] for their DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide) technology: a shallow horn-like waveguide which surrounds the mid- and high frequency drivers' radiating surfaces.
