Gene Stechschulte

Gene Stechschulte (August 12, 1973, Lima, Ohio) is a former Major League Baseball player who pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals from 2000-2002. Stechschulte began his professional baseball career in the Cardinal's minor league system in 1996 as an undrafted free agent. On April 17, 2001, Stechschulte became one of a select few major leaguers to have homered on the first pitch ever thrown to him.[1]
