Eugene (Gene) Pelowski (born 1952) is a Representative in the Minnesota State Legislature for District 31A and a teacher at Winona Senior High School in Winona, Minnesota. He is a Democrat.
Pelowski was first elected to represent the Winona area in 1986 and has continuously served since then, most recently winning re-election in 2006. He currently serves on a number of committees, and as of the Democratic House victory in the most recent election, he now serves as chair of the Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee. He is also a member of the following committees: Capital Investment Finance Division; Education Finance and Economic Competitiveness Finance Division; Finance; Rules and Legislative Administration; State Government Finance Division; Ways and Means. This is a significant increase in the number of committees he serves on, as he previously served on Higher Education Finance (lead DFL), Capital Investment, and Education Policy and Reform.
Many have speculated that he will be retiring in 2010.
