O1 Gem and the Staff by John and Laurie Van De Graaf is module for Dungeons & Dragons (Expert Set). Rather than the typical group adventure this is designed head-to-head tournament-style play, with each player separately playing the same adventure and competing against each other for points, earned by accomplishing certain goals.
It is based on an earlier module Quest for the Fazzlewood which was published by Metro Detroit Gamers, who also published Lost Caverns of Tsojconth. Quest for the Fazzlewood was used as a tournament module at Wintercon VII in 1978, and later publicly released (probably in very small quantities). The module was expanded, and many of the names inside were changed into O1 Gem and the Staff by TSR staff writers.
