Talk:Gekko Hayate

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seeing as most people agree that Hayate isn't significant enough to deserve his own page, should it be redirected to Characters of Naruto? Pentasyllabic 17:26, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Who cares if Hayate has his own page?

Why does it matter if Hayate has his own page? If at least someone cares to create and manage a page seperate for him, what's the problem?

Seeing as how even Orochimaru and Maito Gai don't even have their own pages, the "importance" of a character doesn't necessarily reserve him/her a seperate page.

[edit] Move him to Konoha Jonin

Actully both Orochimaru and Maito Gai there own pages but seeing that the Characters of Naruto page is to big Konoha Jonin is a better place to put him in than his own page. --Croatnik 03:00, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Agreed, although the above comment on Orochimaru and Gai not having their own pages was a while ago. --Pentasyllabic 04:36, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

I don't see what's so hard for you guys to just let Hayate have his own page! It's not like it's hurting you, so just leave it be. "Oh noes!" if Hayate isn't as important as the other characters, but as said before "If at least someone cares to create and manage a page seperate for him, what's the problem?" --Detective X 02:20, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

All the other characters at least have some importance, but Hayate doesn't, that's the problem. Also, stop being so whiny. --Pentasyllabic 02:28, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Hayate does have a great importance. He was the very first to learn of the plans between the Sand and the Sound, and were it not for Baki's interference, he'd have crushed Orochimaru's plans immediately. Also, stop being so anal. --Detective X 02:32, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
But those events did happen, so it's only speculation. There are probably a dozen other characters who could be considered "important" if they only did such and such instead or because they were the first to learn of something. --Pentasyllabic 02:43, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Hayate's death also showed the swiftness and ferocity of Orochimaru's cohorts, giving the reader/viewer insight into what kind of trouble the Leaf was going to be running into apart from just Orochimaru. This created a certain mood of suspense which was later confirmed from the full-on attack from the Sound and Sand, which wasn't dealth with for a while. Also, Hayate's death (alongside Sandaime's) is referenced by Iruka to represent a true ninja with strong loyalty for his village and love for his fellow people. That mood of suspense was a temporary importance, but the lasting effect that Hayate's death had on the genin has caused the characters to grow in terms of village devotion. Naruto, especially, has come to care more about Konoha (and returning Sasuke, yes) than ever before since then. --Detective X 02:54, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
I don't think that Hayate's death was anywhere near as emphasized as the Hokage's, and being killed by a more capable enemy doesn't make one any more loyal to one's country, really. He just happened to be in the right (or wrong) place at the wrong time. --Pentasyllabic 03:03, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
And if it weren't for Aoba, Sasuke wouldn't have heard of Itachi's visit to Konoha, wouldn't have had been beaten by him and wouldn't have defected to Orochimaru at all. Aoba is used to emphasise the gravity of Sasuke's grudge against Itachi and represent the village's insensitivity to the tragedy of the Uchiha clan. He should get his own page too. --AceMyth 08:00, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Gekko Hayate

[edit] Organization

If Gekko Hayate has his own page it would the organization would be lost for people trying to find information-- Croatnik 22:21, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
