Gekås

Gekås i Ullared AB is a department store in Ullared, Sweden. It was founded in 1963 by Göran Karlsson as Ge-kås Manufaktur. It has an annual turnover of 2 700 000 000 Swedish kronor (2006)[1]. The total selling space is 19 000 m2. Boris Lennerhov is CEO. The store is annually visited by 3 700 000 customers [2], with a maximum of 26,200 for a single day. The average customer travels 150 kilometers to get to the store. The company does since a few year run a campsite and a motel in order to serve customers. It has been known for avoiding usual advertising, instead relying on word of mouth.
