Geberit is a European sanitary technology company with worldwide activities.
The Geberit Group is the European market leader in sanitary technology with global presence. From the time of its establishment in 1874, the company has always been a pioneer in the sector, consistently setting new trends with its innovative powers and comprehensive system solutions.
Geberit operates sales offices in around 40 countries. Sales activities are concentrated on the major European markets and with great growth opportunities mainly in Central and Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, China and South East Asia. Geberit supplies markets in Asia and North America with products specifically designed to suit regional needs. To serve these markets, local competency centers have been built up in Shanghai (China) and Chicago (USA). The company has 17 production sites in eight different countries. The main production sites are located in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
Geberit's range of products is designed for use in new buildings as well as in renovation and modernization projects. It comprises six product lines in the two product areas of Sanitary Systems (Installation and Flushing Systems, Waste Fittings and Traps) and Piping Systems (Building Drainage Systems, Supply Systems). Geberit brand name products are innovative, durable and ecologically efficient and provide high-end sanitary solutions for retailers, plumbers and installers, and end users alike. The company trains yearly more than 25,000 plumbers, sanitary engineers and architects in Geberit systems and software tools. Training takes place at the 25 company's information centers in Europe and overseas.
The Geberit Group generated sales volume of CHF 1.9 billion in 2005 and worldwide 5,200 employees. Therefrom are about 1,000 employees based in Switzerland. Geberit is headquartered in Jona in the canton of St. Gallen and has been listed on SWX Swiss Exchange since 1999.
