[edit] Merger with C40-8W
The C41-8W is nothing more then a uprated C40-8W, and shares all electrical and mechanical equipment with them. I personally feel that they should be merged. --Chesapeake 04:54, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
..I'd just like to second my friend's opinion up here. I've worked for years a journalist in the rail transportation press and can confirm that the C41-8W is indeed, essentially, a variation on a C40-8W. I second merging the two articles. Abcraghead 05:02, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
All these C40-8 locomotives should be collapsed into an 'engine family' or 'engine group' page. The differences between them seem to be minor. On a slightly unrelated note, I have the strong suspicion that Abcraghead and Chesapeake are in fact the same person. --Dj245 01:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I do like the idea of possibly having a "C40-8 Family page" including the C40-8, C40-8W, C40-8M, C41-8W and C44-8W. Simular things have already been done for the EMD 70 series. On the unrelated note, Mr Craghead and myself are not the same person... (although sometimes we wounder if we are not clones or brothers or something) Chesapeake 03:28, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
