The Gdynia trolleybus system is one of three remaining trolleybus systems in Poland (the other being these in Lublin and Tychy). The system was opened on September 18, 1943. Today consists of 12 lines (numbered from 20 to 31). Two lines (21 and 31) extend to the neighbouring city of Sopot. As of 2007 the system consists of 86 12-meter-long trolleybuses. System is operated by Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji Trolejbusowej (Trolleybus Transport Company) working under commission of Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego (Public Transport Bureau).
