Gord Crann (also known as Gordon Crann) is a lawyer practicing with Redway & Butler in Toronto and a contributor to Canadian Newcomer Magazine.
Gord was an Alderman representing Ward 3 on East York Council from 1978 to 1985.
Gord was the New Democratic Party candidate in both the 1985 Ontario Provincial Election in York East and the 1986 York East Provincial By-Election.
Gord was a political columnist with the Toronto Star from 1987 to 1988.
At the end of 1988, Gord let his membership in the New Democratic Party lapse due to attempted NDP interference of his freedom of expression as a journalist.
In 1994, Gord chaired Michael Prue's successful campaign for Mayor of East York.
After more than 15 years as an independent political activist, Gord joined the Liberal Party in early 2006.
Gord co-chaired the Election Planning Committee for the Ben Chin Campaign in the 2006 Toronto-Danforth Provincial By-Election.
In May 2006, Gord became President of the Toronto-Danforth Provincial Liberal Association.
Gord has served on the board of many charities over the past three decades. He is a Past President of Environmental Defence Canada.
