This template is a version of {{gblock}} intended for IP addresses. The main difference is replacement of "You have been blocked..." with "This IP address has been blocked..." The intent is to clarify to anonymous users that the block is not necessarily directed toward them personally, for example in the case of a dynamic IP where someone else is assigned the address after a vandal has moved on.

As with {{gblock}} it is customizable and requires use of details after the |, IE {{subst:GBlock|not having enough cowbell|a long time}}. Alternatively, you can specify a date or time (note time differences, however), by using the until parameter – {{subst:GBlock|not having enough cowbell|until=8 April 2000}}.
