Mandatory checkusers on Requests for Adminship

I would add that when any diagnostic tool is applied to a population with a low baseline prevalence, then regardless of how good that tool is, false positives will outweigh true positives (Bayes' theorem, more or less). Using checkuser where there is a reasonably high pre-test probability of sockpuppetry is a good idea, as it leads to a reasonable positive predictive value. Applying it across the board to a population which (hopefully) has a low rate of abusive sockpuppetry will degrade the positive predictive value of "confirmatory" results, and lead to more false positives than true positives, even with highly skilled checkusers at the helm. From the help desk - a question about white blood cells

I need to know:
What is the function of white blood cells?
What the structure of white blood cells is?
What the role the white blood cell plays in the body? 131.191.23.116 (talk)Nicole —Preceding comment was added at 03:10, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your question appears to be a homework question. I apologize if this is a misevaluation, but it is our policy here to not do people's homework for them, but to merely aid them in doing it themselves. Letting someone else do your homework does not help you learn how to solve such problems. Please attempt to solve the problem yourself first. If you need help with a specific part of your homework, feel free to tell the folks at the Wikipedia:Reference desk where you are stuck and ask for help. If you need help grasping the concept of a problem, by all means let them know. Thank you. WODUP (talk) 03:12, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
