Fair-use rationale
Thanks for responding on my talk page. I'm filling out the fair-use rationale template and I can't figure out what to put for "portion" for Image:Chunky Kong.jpg.
Thanks--Viridistalk|contributions 12:04, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- This is what I have so far:
{{Non-free media rationale | Description = Image of Chunky Kong from Donkey Kong 64 | Source = Rendered by Rare | Portion = | Low_resolution = Yes | Purpose = To illustrate a character from a game. | Replaceability = No equivelent free image exists. }}--Viridistalk|contributions 12:22, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks. I finished it! I added <nowiki></nowiki> to my above comment to spare your layout. Thanks for all your help.--Viridistalk|contributions 03:16, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Benny Landa
Hmmm I dont know if I am doing this right I just signed up to be a wiki user today I got a message you flagged Benny Landa as inapropriate just wanted to let you know I am in no way associated with HP Indigo, I updated their page and added criticisms to it and then added some information on mr lande who IS in fact a celebrated inventor in the graphics industry of which i am a part. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alagrave (talk • contribs)
So sorry just read about that elsewhere :) got it now Alagrave 20:45, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Sorry me again..... Ok the holdon tip is GREAT is there anything else I can do to an article besides that to invite people to expand on it? The way I ended up even writing on Mr. Landa was an empty hyperlink btw. Additionally I STILL think he should be on wikipedia how would we remedy that? Do I just create another article and take your comments into account? Alagrave 20:49, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Power Ballads
First, please note that I just flagged them. I have no admin power, so an admin made the final decision (and apparently agreed). These seem to be what I would call a K-TEL record in the states (don't know what the equivalent is in British English). Not a real album, just a quicky compilation of songs by a hundred different artists. The user id that created the pages was created this morning, apparently for the purpose of documenting this large group of cheap record collections. It smelled of financial interest to me. Talk page vandalism
You're welcome! I was actually a little uncertain of whether to revert or not, since it was such a dull section. The downside of tackling the vandalism (good job, by the way!) is that you tend to catch flak for it. On the upside, it tends to mean that abusive editors get blocked that bit faster. Keep up the good work! Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 17:19, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Gunfighter infobox
Thanks for trying! It's really confusing me. All I did was copy and paste the text from another template in and modify it to say what I want it to say, so theoretically it should work fine. I've probably left out a bit of coding somewhere or missed a step, no doubt. The Parsnip! 23:03, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- GOT IT! I figured out what I was doing wrong. You were on the right track by removing that coding at the top of the /doc page, but the page that actually had to change was the hard template itself. I readded the code to the top of the /doc page, which transcludes itself to the regular Template:Infobox Gunfuighter page. On THAT page is the actual coding necessary to make the infobox do what it's supposed to do. Have a look if you're curious. The Parsnip! 13:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Right, i agree about the speedy delete, but the page still needs to have the offending portions removed immediately. Batman2005 10:44, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

- Also, on the grounds of notability, as the person clearly doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion. Batman2005 10:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

- You're right, I just TIRE of these worthless pages about non-notable people. At least this one is an actual player, and not some high school kid trying to be someone he's not. Batman2005 11:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Maharishi central university
You deleted this article before I had a chance to correct it. I'm not associated with this university, and included, in an encyclopedic manner, information that others would find useful. I'd point to specific sections, but it was deleted too quickly.
Perhaps, rather than deleting the whole thing, you might have just removed the portions you see as advertisements? As I say, I'm not in any way associated with this new university, and so have no reason to advertise it. Could you point to specific problems, so that I can correct them? On Modifying Redirects, And The Robbers Cave Experiment
Thanks for adding the Robbers Cave Experiment redirect.
I had hoped to learn how to add and delete redirects. Any pointers?
Also, I don't understand the value of adding the misspelled redirect Robbers Cave Experiement to complement the existing misspelled redirect Robber's Cave Experiment. Shouldn't we have just deleted the existing misspelled redirect and created the correctly spelled versions? — 63.249.110.32 17:18, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
About User:Michael_Haugland_stuff
User:Michael_Haugland is my brother, and I know I speak for him on this. My brother is, as you can no doubt tell from his contributions page, new to Wikipedia. I don't know why he decided to do it, but he is writing a manga (he is an aspiring comic artist, slightly japanophile and a junior "otaku") and he apparently felt like making a Wikipedia article about his manga. I told him that it would be most likely deleted as soon as it was "discovered", because of its obvious non-notability, and this is where the _stuff page comes in.
Many Wikipedia users keep subpages to their user page, it is far from rare. Some use it to keep notes, or as a personal sandbox.. or, in the case of my friend and former Wikipedian User:Havok, well... you can see for yourself. Anyway, as I told him that his article would most likely be deleted soon, he copied the contents of that page to a "notes" page as a subpage to his own user page... As you said it yourself, it is.. quite unlikely that someone will make a Wikipedia account called "Michael Haugland stuff", what is the harm in leaving it be? --Ifrit 23:16, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
