GB-PVR is a home media center application, running on Microsoft Windows, allowing you to watch TV, schedule recordings, watch videos, watch DVDs, listen to music, view photos. A large user base of PVR enthusiasts contribute to its support and further development with various plugins and utilities, making GB-PVR customizable.

GB-PVR is freeware, but it is a closed source, proprietary application:

Is this project open source?

No sorry. GB-PVR supports open interfaces, but the core engine code is not publicly available. You are able to develop your own plugins to extend GB-PVR, and there are several examples available to get you started. Plugins can be developed in C#, VB.NET or C++. Visit the forum and the wiki for more information.

GB-PVR is mostly an MPEG recording and playback system, that may also play other non-MPG content such as AVI (DivX/Xvid), WMV, and other formats that are supported by your computer's installed codecs.

It requires a TV tuner card (many hardware encoding cards and some software encoding cards supported), a VMR9 capable display adapter (video card), and a supported MPEG2 Decoder. Other requirements are listed on the GB-PVR web site.
