Gazipur is a district in central Bangladesh. It is a part of the Dhaka Division.

The district is administratively subdivided into the following upazilas:

  1. Gazipur Sadar Upazila
  2. Kaliakair Upazila
  3. Kaliganj Upazila
  4. Kapasia Upazila
  5. Sreepur Upazila

Three universities are situated here. These are Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology and an international university Islamic University of Technology.

  • Kalinarayana Temple, circa 1900. Built by Maharaya Kalinarayana of Bhawal. Located in Joydebpur.
  • Vawal Rajbari, one-time home of Prince Ramendra Narayan of the Bhawal case. Located in Joydebpur.
