Gay deceiver
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A gay deceiver can mean any of the following:
- A rakehell or lothario.
- A brand of girdle
- A once-widely used term for falsies (for example, in The Glass Menagerie)
- A fictional character created by Robert A. Heinlein, the sentient car/aircraft/time machine introduced in his novel The Number of the Beast.
- The Gay Deceivers, a 1969 gay-themed comedy film.
In the course of the XIX century, gay deceiver could also mean a highwayman (as in, e.g., one of the lyrics sets for Whiskey in the Jar Irish ballad) or a person using his personal charme for purposes of personal advantage; Aaron Burr is thus referred to in the Atlantic Monthly (vol. XII, n. 74, 1863).
