Gay.com is an LGBT website owned by PlanetOut Inc. and considered one of their digital brands[1][2] The site features personal ads, chat rooms, and LGBT-oriented news. As of September 2005, San Jose Mercury News ranked Gay.com as the most popular online gay personals site in the country. As of March 2007, Hitwise ranked it number three in popularity after Adam4Adam and Manhunt.[3] [4]
The site was founded by Mark Elderkin and Jeff O. Bennett in 1994.[citation needed]
