akbar s. ahmed's page

please do not delete the page on Akbar Ahmed. He is a prominent figure in the world and it is absolutely unacceptable that wikipedia members continue to ignore this. There once existed a great page about him and his work, someone deleted it and I think it is because it put his life together in such a way as he does not want to see it. BUT, all of the information was properly cited. I am working to recreate the page. Should you have a problem with this please let me know why.

Thanks :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unknownbutknown (talkcontribs) 20:25, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Julian Taverez

I see I made a capitalization error. Do I still get credit for making the article? --HPJoker 02:39, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Of course! -Gawaxay (talk contribs count) 02:43, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanx! Feel free (Please do. lol) to build up Taverez's article. He's very well respected in Red Sox Nation and will be a vital asset next year, if he acts in his normal "I'll do anything for you Theo." manner. --HPJoker 02:47, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I won't try that. If I tried to add actual content to Wikipedia, I'd just mess it up. I'm only here to keep Wikipedia from a spoding. -Gawaxay (talk contribs count) 02:50, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Agropecol

Please don't tag an article with {{db-foreign}} unless "It is a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project (CSD A2)." Just being a foreign language article is not a speedy deletion criterion; the article actually has to exist on another Wikimedia project, such as in this case the Spanish Wikipedia. However, es:Agropecol does not exist. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

I didn't know about {{notenglish}}. Gawaxay (talk contribs count) 12:11, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Chatsubo

Hello. I just came to say thanks for correcting the "engrish" of ja:Wikipedia:Chatsubo for Non-Japanese Speakers/Header. Yet, to be honest, I felt a bit insulted by your comment in the edit summary. It would have been nicer if you did not try to teach Japanese-speakers the poorness of their English with quite unnatural (probably machine-translated) Japanese. And, though I myself do laugh at "engrish" all the time, it does not seem to be an appropriate expression when directly "correcting" the writing of other people. --Aotake 11:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I couldn't think of anything else to say. And I try to put an edit summary on everything. Sorry if it offended you, that wasn't my intention. I should have thought about my edit summary. By the way, what does "Chatsubo" mean?
Some Engrish for you to laugh at: That part seems like "engrish", (the bad translation where you saw a little) Gawaxay (talk contribs count) 21:50, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for understanding. ^^ For the edit summary, you don't need to write it in Japanese, if you need to use machine translation. The meaning of "chatsubo" is explained here. --Aotake 12:00, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Intro rewrite???

Hi. Your use of the "intro rewrite" template seems a bit indiscriminate. The 1812 in Wales article conforms to the pattern for all the "Year in Wales" articles. Deb 16:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Talk page

Oh, and please reply to any of my comments on my talk page, not your own, because that's where I'll look for it. I have enough pages on my watchlist already, thanks. Deb 16:42, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Years in Wales

That's fair enough, but don't you think "needs a complete rewrite" is a bit OTT? Surely it would be better to suggest improvements to the template as a whole on the relevant talk page, rather than add a cleanup message. I was wondering if it was a bot you're using. Okay, then you might like to comment here. Deb 17:07, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Admins

I would hate anyone to think that I expect to be treated differently because of that. The nature of adminship has changed a lot in the time I've been one (which is probably 3 or 4 years now). Unfortunately, these days we are expected to do a lot of work on "administration" (as you'd expect), which is pretty boring - not to mention frustrating - compared with contributing to articles. It comes in handy when you need to block a vandal but I don't do that very often. Probably the most constructive use I've made of my "powers" recently was in protecting the Politics of Wales page. You might like to have a look at the talk page for that article and see what went on.

I'm not sure how long you've been here, but contributors tend to be expected to build up a bit of "experience" before they are elected. Have a look at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship and you'll get some idea how it works. Deb 12:44, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Admins

Please don't think that I was trying to discourage you. Adminship is no big deal, though. Anyhow, I'll be keeping an eye out for you, and if you ever hit any problems, I'll be glad to try and help out. Deb 21:45, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
