Under certain circumstances, AfD discussions can be hidden after closing. This isn't something I know how to do, but if you put {{helpme}} on your talk page (here) with your request, someone will be along in a while to help you.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:02, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you Fabrictramp

I have an agent who has taken it upon himself to place my details on wikipedia. This was not something I wanted him to do. The details put forward were done without my consent. In a short time a massive online social networking site called 'The Land of Grimney' will be up and running. I do not wish people who are searching for the site to end up encountering me and my deleted page.

Could you possibly please amend this problem?

Kind regards

Gavin Paul Carter

  • Nobody will see your page (except for Wikipedia administrators) since it's been deleted. It won't turn up in a Google search or anything. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 14:30, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
To expand a bit on TPH's answer, and your comment on your user page: The pages you are seeing in a google search are wikipedia mirrors -- sites which download the entire content of wikipedia and host the pages on a separate site. Wikipedia has no control over these mirrors. Generally, every time a new download of wikipedia is made available (usually every couple of months), the mirrors update their content. Until then, a google search will continue to find those mirrors. You may also notice that (as of this moment), a google search comes up with the wikipedia article, but if you click on the link, you will not get the article because it's been deleted.
When you use the {{helpme}} tag, please note that the tag uses curly brackets, not parentheses.
Also, do not continue to modify the AfD debate. If you modify it again, it will be considered to be vandalism, and you may be blocked from editing.
Best method, as I recommended above, is to use the help me to ask how to have the AfD debate hidden.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

My agent and my website designer are still finding this deletion notice coming up on searches. Either when searches are made for THE LAND OF GRIMNEY, or my name. I am not sure you do not have the legal right to keep my details stored for public display.

Can you please amend this problem, and remove the information from your pages.

Thank you

Yours

Gavin Paul Carter

  • It's been removed from the pages; I would guess that Google hasn't caught up yet. Nobody but an administrator can actually see your info now. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:23, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
