Gavin Monaghan is a record producer, born in London in 1962, currently living in Wolverhampton, with his American wife Janis and two cats Murray and Nancy. He has two children Annie and Levi, both born in Wolverhampton.
Operating out of Magic Garden Studios, his own facility based around a sizeable collection of vintage audio equipment, he is known for his work with Editors (notably "Bullets" from album "The Back Room) and at the end of 2005, reached no.1 in the UK and Ireland with "JCB song" by Nizlopi. He has has recently produced the eagerly awaited forthcoming album by NME award winners "The Twang" including Jo Whiley and Edith Bowman radio 1 single of the week "Wide Awake". He is assisted by engineer Gazz Rogers.
He has also worked with Dogs die in hot cars, Scott Matthews, Terris, Carina Round, Goldblade, 442, The Dirty Backbeats, The Priory, Deluka, Broadcast and many others,
He is active in the West Midlands music scene, and regularly puts on showcase gigs with bands he has worked with, inviting industry contacts to attend.
Gavin is managed by Barbara Jeffries at The Smoothside organisation.
