Gavialidae is a family of reptiles within the order Crocodilia. Gavialidae consists of only two surviving species, the Gharial (Gavialis gangeticus) and the False Gharial (Tomistoma schlegelii), which are each the sole living representatives of the two Gavialidae genera.
