Gauthild is the mother of a fairly important Swedish King, the wife of an important King and the daughter of one of the rather important Geatish Kings Algaut. There are a lot of articles about pointless bands and clubs that are not candidates for speedy deletion, so why should poor Gauthild get her article deleted? Members of royal families are important to countries' histories. She sent her son Olof to Geatland which would have made him a Geat aswell as a Swede. I think she was an important person in his life. - Doctor Hesselius

Well I can't see any reason to why this article should be removed, myself. I think it is always good to present as much information as possible on historical figures. So I say this should be kept! Sigurd Dragon Slayer

I think a deletion of this article is not needed. I have posted enough information and I will try to dig up more later. - Hesselius

I have removed the notice. If anyone disagrees please feel free to replace the notice. I shall do some research on this subject and try and improve this article. Sigurd Dragon Slayer

A Great deal of articles don't cite sources, always posting links to offsite information for the littlest detail is silly however I will add a number of links. - Hesselius

Are there any other sources on her life than the Ynglinga saga? I'm rather sceptical to those dates. Fornadan (t) 09:23, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

We will never know the correct dates for sure but the dates do seem plausible. I have a feeling that Gauthild is mention in another source, I have not finished researching.- Hesselius.

[edit] Namespelling

The name in the article is the Islandic nameform. The Swedish nameform is Göthild Algottsdotter. I don't know if the name should be altered, i just thougt it would be nice to know the Swedish nameform, as she was a Swedish queen.

Yes, but that is modern Swedish. The name for this article is closer. Even would do fine as the Geat article is known by the English version (Geat) rather than the old Norse or Swedish versions. I think the name should be added to the article, though. King Óðinn The Aesir 15:09, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
