I'm not sure about including this passage: "In Japan, since one of the symbols of Dainichi Nyorai (one of the non-historical buddhas of Mahayana Buddhism) was the sun, many equated Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess, with a previous reincarnation (bodhisattva) of Dainichi Nyorai." Judging by the title, this article seems like it should be restricted to discussing one particular Buddha, i.e. the historical Shakyamuni Buddha.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 03:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
