Gautam Kumar

Gautam Kumar also known as Gautam is a known Indian Advertisements, Television and Hindi Films Director who belongs to the states of West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, India.

As he had a passion for directing he left behind his successful career as a Doctor and jumped into the films and came to Mumbai in year 1992. He started directing with the T.V. Serials like Ghar Sansar (1996 – 1998), Punar Milan and Lalsa telecasted on Doordarshan. And then he did music albums of Humraj and Pop Singer Daler Mehndi produced by Ashwini Kumar (brother of late Gulshan Kumar) of T- series which were released in year 1996. In the same year his first movie Ek Aur Jung was also released starring Aditya Pancholi and Sonam which was produced by Ehsaan Qureshi and Akhlak Raja.After that he was not that successful but still he managed to do few ads like Mid Land Cigarettes by Gulf Visions in year 2000. In the same year he signed another Film Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon starring Remi Kaler and (Sharbani Mukherji of Border fame) produced by Bohra Productions and later to some reason this film didn’t get materialized. After that he really had a bad patch because of his father’s illness, though his few ads like Mineral Water of Raja Hashan and Royal Stag wine and soda in the magazines were released in year 2002 and 2003. And recently his another ad Tata Voltas was made in year 2006. After his father came out of the illness he was able to concentrate again on his directing career and now his two feature films are on floors named Ziaa (Cinematography by Ishwar of Border and Andaaz fame & music by Pritam and written by Saleem Raza) and Yeh Watan Hai Hamara (Produced by Bhalla Films and Cinematography by Nazir Khan). He has also signed two more films named Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum (Produced by Sudhir Gopalan) and Production No. -3 (Produced by Sameer Bhai and Cinematography by very famous Director of Photography Ashok Mehta).
