Regarding the final part of the article - re: the running track - it was the home of Manchester Ac which merged with Manchester and District Lads Club to form Manchester Harriers and AC - a club which still has its home at Scholes Fields and is very much an alive and kicking club - even though we only have a "cinder" track which is used by quad bikers and motorcyclists as well!!!! but we are thriving.
