Gateway City

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gateway City is also the nickname of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Gateway City is a fictional setting, one of many fictional cities in the DC Universe. It is usually considered[citation needed] to be located in northern California and is similar to the real world city of San Francisco (though San Francisco also exists in the DCU).

Initially created for use in stories featuring Mr. Terrific in the 1940s and then in Spectre stories in the late 1960s, Gateway City years later became home to Wonder Woman during John Byrne's run on the title.[1] It is now famous for being the home of Cassie Sandsmark, aka Wonder Girl II. Cassie attends school in Gateway with Cissie King-Jones, who was formerly the teen superheroine Arrowette.

Prior to becoming commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, Michael Akins worked for the police of Gateway City.
