[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bristol city coa.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bristol city coa.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:31, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Debrecen 2006.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Debrecen 2006.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Billy Beats Update

Hi I have just found the article on Billy Beats. William Beats is my Great Grandad and I have started looking into his playing history. I have a photo of him from around 1896 which I will upload at some point. Richard Beats —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.206.126.43 (talk) 19:05, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Class 81s

I really *really* love your photo of the Class 81s awaiting scrapping. I think it's awesome. I know it was a long time ago, but do you remember anything about the kind of camera and lenses etc you used to get this shot? I'd be very interested to know. (BTW, if you do reply, do so here, rather than on my talk page; my IP changes regularly.) 80.189.134.123 (talk) 08:09, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

You're right, it was a long time ago! :) I think it must have been round about 1989 or 1990, I was still at school at the time and we went to this place on a trip during the summer holidays. I can't even remember where the picture was taken unfortunately. I didn't have any fancy equipment though, the picture was taken on a bog-standard, cheap, 35mm compact. It may have been a Yashica, but I can't really remember now. — Gasheadsteve Talk to me 08:18, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Wow. I wasn't expecting the "cheap compact" thing, haha. This is one of the most fantastic, dramatic film camera photos I've seen in a while so I suspected some crazy-expensive lens with filters and blah blah. Maybe I should ditch my SLR or something. ;) Thanks for getting back to me! 80.189.134.123 (talk) 08:47, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
