Gasselternijveen

The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Gasselternijveen in the municipality of Aa en Hunze.

Gasselternijveen (52°59′N, 6°51′E) is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Aa en Hunze, and lies about 20 km east of Assen.

In 2001, the town of Gasselternijveen had 1570 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 1.0 km², and contained 646 residences.[1] The statistical area "Gasselternijveen", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1870.[2]
