[edit] Regarding Gary dale

Hi. According to wikipedia conventions|, articles with titles that are proper nouns (such as Gary Dale), should be capitalised on all letters. I moved the article Gary dale that you created to Gary Dale, but you edited Gary dale and removed the redirect. Please edit only Gary Dale.--Rossheth | Talk 20:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ann Boddington

Thank you for your contributions, but this article has been tagged for deletion. Please note that Wikipedia is not a memorial. Thank you. Pan Dan 20:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

You clearly copied it from here, and it is intellectual property. For all I know, she is important, but we can't accept copyrighted material and a death notice is a poor way to start an article anyway. You could just try writing something like "Ann Boddington (birth date-death date) was an important figure in whatever and was known for this, that and the other thing" and it would be enough for others to expand on, if that's your goal. Grandmasterka 15:42, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I see what you mean, kind of... But parts of it are still copied from that source. You need to avoid having stuff in an encyclopedia article such as "friends are invitied to contribute to such-and-such" and it would be good to have a source for such generalities as "Ann was active in a number of choirs where her fine voice and perfect pitch were greatly admired."
On second thought, I'll just restore the article and edit it myself... The problems aren't insurmountable. Grandmasterka 17:26, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright status of West Hill - Highland Creek Lions Club

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to West Hill - Highland Creek Lions Club. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.lionsclub.ca/about.html in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:West Hill - Highland Creek Lions Club with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:West Hill - Highland Creek Lions Club with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement.
