From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello Gary, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:

  • You can introduce yourself on the new users page
  • If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • Remember to use the show preview button before you save a page.

Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies. As you know, you can ask questions at the village pump. Also, feel free to ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Angela. 16:59, Feb 28, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Picture of Central Amman

Thanks for the picture you contributed to Amman (Image:Amman downTown.jpg). I beleive you own the copyright to it as you created it. I request you to release it under the GFDL or to the public domain. If you intend to release it to the public domain, you should just add text to the image page saying that you do so. If you intend to release it under the GFDL, you should go to the page and write "(c) Gary Jones. {{GFDL}}". Releasing it under GFDL or to the public domain ensures that the complete article is GFDL and allows free redistribution of the image along with the article. Thanks, --Hemanshu 19:53, 22 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your image of the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit in Amman. I've used it at Tanakh at Qumran. Cheers. Alastair Haines 09:48, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
