Please don't blank pages. Also, a high school band that has no records and is unheard of doesn't deserve a wiki page. CryptoDerk 09:11, Apr 5, 2004 (UTC)
Please do not try copy-and-paste moves like you did with List of Nintendo Wii games. Please use the move button at the top of the page instead. --TheKoG (talk|contribs) 17:24, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Idiot's Lantern sarcasm
I'm quite happy to agree to disagree - I think the current wording doesn't insert an interpretation either way, so it's probably the most neutral. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 05:31, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Companion
Travelling in the TARDIS doesn't make you automatically a companion. H.G. Wells did it in Timelash, Marcus Scarman in Pyramids of Mars and they;re not companions. Granted they were also one-shot characters, so let's talk about Sergeant Benton, who's not considered a companion even though he was recurring and travelled in the TARDIS in The Three Doctors. Very few lists give the Brig as a companion (the BBC site notwithstanding) even though he did the same in The Three Doctors. So travel in the TARDIS isn't a hard and fast criterion.
Ultimately, it's not a fictional but a metafictional matter; a question of intent and a question of the function in the story. Adam was definitely taken on as a travelling companion at the end of Dalek and the Doctor was breaking him in as part of the TARDIS crew in The Long Game, the whole point of which was showing that some people aren't cut out to be companions: one of the working titles was The Companion Who Wasn't, IIRC. Mickey was a companion because he was taken on board, lasted more than a single story, and was given "companion" assignments as part of the crew.
Jackie's trip in the TARDIS is accidental, and the Doctor isn't keeping her around as a companion, nor is he using her or treating her as one (consider his plea to Hartman not to include Jackie, and him generally keeping her completely out of the way, unlike how he treated Rose, Jack and/or Mickey). This is not to say she's not an important recurring character, but in my view, this does not make her a companion just because she's travelled in the TARDIS any more than attending a sermon makes you a [insert religion here]. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 06:30, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Good job in rewriting the article for 756. I tried to do it, but I couldn't in time because of an edit conflict. Nyttend 04:15, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
