[edit] Image tagging for Image:Aria 1986.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aria 1986.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Aria-live-18-11-03.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aria-live-18-11-03.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Aria 1986.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aria 1986.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ptr ru 13:01, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wait and See
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nu%2C_pogodi%21_%28game%29&diff=112955780&oldid=100135075
And? "Wait and See" is the in-game text that refers to the game. "Wait and See" is the game's English name. WhisperToMe 04:12, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I thought it's translated tittle. Article is written like if "Ну Погоди!" is the original name of the game, and "Wait and See!" is the translation. If I'm wrong, please correct me.Garret Beaumain 19:02, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- There isn't any real translation; as apparent from the links, both names are in the in-game screen. There is only one version of the game. There is no in-game dialog. Both names are in the original name, and written by the same authors. WhisperToMe 07:19, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
As seen here: http://www.encyclopedia-obscura.com/gphcs/gameswait/title.gif - Both names are present in the sole version. The game uses "Wait and See" as its English name, and "nu, pogodi!" as its Russian name. WhisperToMe 07:20, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ig Nobel
Neat tidbit about the Russian name for the Ig Nobel prizes. Can you point to anywhere that uses it - in case somebody comes along who fears that it's vandalism; it would be good to have a citation in the article. - DavidWBrooks 17:11, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
This is not vandalism. Even the russian wiki page for IgNoble is named "Шнобелевская премия". I'll also add the link to a russian news source. Garret Beaumain 23:26, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Catharsis band.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Catharsis band.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 05:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of G.E.N.E.
An editor has nominated G.E.N.E., an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G.E.N.E. and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Aria-Lost_Paradise.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Aria-Lost_Paradise.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 01:16, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Catharsis (band)
I've nominated Catharsis (band), an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Catharsis (band) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Catharsis (band) (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Catharsis (band) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Alisa-Izgoy.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Alisa-Izgoy.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Gorbachev
Hi, Garret! Regarding Mikhail Gorbachev, you are clearly misunderstanding what the yo article is saying. You said that "Russians never spell [this word] 'Gorbachyov', because yo follows 'ch'", but that is plain incorrect. The Russian letter "ё" is, of course, pronounced (and sometimes trancribed) as "o" after postalveolar fricatives, but it does not mean it is transliterated/romanized as "o", yet alone "spelled by Russians" as such (the Russian spelling is Горбачёв, not Горбачов, although the latter is a valid last name as well). Please read the transliteration, romanization, and transcription articles for the differences between the concepts and note that in the Gorbachev article the word you keep editing is a romanization of this person's last name; spelled in full accordance with WP:RUS. I will restore proper romanization once again, but please do let me know if you have further questions. As a native Russian speaker who very much loves the letter "ё", I think I'll be able to address your questions satisfactorily :) Best,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:41, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The argument
Hello.
Russian rock for years is my favorite music genre, i know alot about it and i know all the classic Russian rock bands. Folk-rock was a characteristic of most classic Russian rock bands. Listen to some of the albums of Aquarium from the 80's, and the 90's to. Russian instruments, Russian folk music used, Russian national themes in the text. Many songs of DDT use Russian folk themes and in many songs they use a woman folk-choir on backing vocals, singing in the Russian folk way. Alisa have a few songs which are Russian folk rock.
Lets continue to the 90's. Many of the songs of Karol i Shut are set in a Russian-village, and many times traditional Russian characters are used.
So as you can se, folk rock was always in Russian rock. M.V.E.i. 10:00, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- If you want certain examples of songs or explanations or anything like that feel free to ask. M.V.E.i. 10:06, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Please, what you do to article is pushing your point of view. Didn't you read articles on Alisa, DDT, Korol i Shut, and other bands? They don't play folk music, no sources cite them as folk music - everywhere they mentioned, they are referred to as simply "rock" bands. What seem to you "folk themes" don't make the band a folk music band, which is a specifyic genre. Your opinion is not enough.Garret Beaumain 08:41, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
-
- It's not my POV it's facts, they all use elements of folk-Rock. Folk rock can be hard rock, alternative rock, anything. What makes it folk is using national elements. They are referred to simply as rock bands due to the fact that they creat music in many rock genres. M.V.E.i. 10:33, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. What YOU do is pushing your POV. M.V.E.i. 10:34, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The link you gave is broken
The link you gave was broken so i delete the statement again. If you want it to stay at least change the formulation of the sentence from: "Folk rock music was led to public attention following..." to: "Folk rock music had a revival following...", i think it's a fair compromise. M.V.E.i. 10:25, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- I returned your statement, and re-wrote it as i said should be done. I wrote it as a section above the pagan-metal section. M.V.E.i. 10:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] References needed
Hello :-)
You have made two statments in the Russian rock article: 1) Folk rock music had a revival following Pelagea's and Melnitsa's rise from underground acts to constantly radio-aired bands. 2) The undeground pagan metal scene, based on Slavic pagan traditions, has grew wide with such bands as Temnozor, Arkona and Butterfly Temple being noted by auditory outside Russia.
Could you please give me references that could be used to support those claims? It's just that i'm now in a process of referencing the article so no-statement could be deleted. M.V.E.i. 15:44, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vladimir Putin
Hello Garret B. The 'prime minister-designate' thingy is back, on Putin infobox & succession box. Electrobe has re-inserted it. GoodDay (talk) 15:40, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanx. I hope Electrobe will understand he was wrong. Garret Beaumain (talk) 17:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
He won't relent. He's re-added prime minister-designate & (so far) isn't discussing it at the Putin talk-page. Though I'm AGF, he's behaviour (IMHO) is bordering on uncivil. GoodDay (talk) 21:12, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
PS: I hope I'm wrong, but I get the impression that Electrobe won't discuss it, as long as his edit isn't reverted. GoodDay (talk) 21:23, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Epi-Livin'-in-Twilight.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Epi-Livin'-in-Twilight.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 12:14, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Epi-Volya-k-Zhizni.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Epi-Volya-k-Zhizni.jpg.
