[edit] Article creation
I have been looking through the list of unwatched pages (available only to administrators) and found 1944 in comics. I see that you created this but were not watching it. You may want to go to your preferences and under the "editing" tab turn on "Add pages you edit to your watchlist". This will enable you to keep an eye out for any edits that are made to pages you create and help to revert vandalism. If you do decide to turn it on can you please drop me a note on my talk page so I can cut down my excessive watchlist (6000+). Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 18:33, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Dear CambridgeBayWeather
- I know not of this mythical "watchlist" thou speak of but I will attempt to acquaint myself with it's strange and magical powers as soon as time permits me. I have thru the course of time created copious amounts of stubs in the portal of eternal fraternal love and I realize this may be somewhat disturbing to stressed admins who have to keep track of my diahrretic equibrilistic doings. For this I sincerely apologize and I will punish myself accordingly sacrificing any number of my slaves and/or siblings thou may require. Further, I hereby proclaim to the world that my watchlist shall hereby and henceforth be known as "Active Watchlist"!
- I don't believe that sacrifce is required by admins at this time. But thanks for the offer. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:09, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Historic places
I was planning to split all the states - I have the articles but haven't yet uploaded them. I also did Massachusetts and Connecticut... --SFoskett 20:31, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- I would LOVE a hand uploading these files! Want me to send you a zip of the files for a few states? Email me at gmail (username is the same). --SFoskett 14:09, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

- I'm a little delayed in the process but I will get to it. However, I'm unsure of the validity of actually disambiguing every single link. It might be more reasonable to simple remove them as it is unlikely any articles for these places will ever be created. Celcius (Talk)

[edit] Wikipedia:Most wanted articles
I see you have found the update. Sorry it took so long - I didn't realize that new database dumps were being put in a new place. Fortunately, they are being done weekly now, so it should be easier to keep the list up to date. Thanks for reminding me about it and thanks for all your work there. -- Beland 00:09, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Interwiki
Hi! Thanks for creating articles about Slovenian municipalities. Unfortunately you forgot to include interwiki links... see for instance my edit to Žetale. Thanks, Punkmorten 14:28, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- Aww - I'm sorry dude. I thought it was some sort of incredible and magical bot which did that. I'll be happy to go over the articles and add the links if you could tell me a little more about the procedure. How do you ascertain which Wikis have a similar page? Celcius (Talk) 14:31, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- It's true that bots do it to a certain extent, but to get the job done I (for one) prefer to include them manually when creating an article. My general rule of thumb is this: Write a link to the "native" language Wikipedia (in this case: [[sl:Žetale]]) and check if it exists. Usually the article will exist at least in the "native" language, if anywhere. If it does exist, copy the rest of the interwiki links stated in that article (in this case, it ja nl ro & sv). Again many thanks for creating the articles :) -- Punkmorten 14:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cities in São Paulo
The information comes from my head including schools and location. The population rank comes from the article in the Portuguese language Wikipedia known in English as "List of cities in São Paulo by population". Pumpie, 01:32, 27 Feb 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Filipino actor stubs
I like WP:MWA too, probably because it's a bit like NWA. It's also what put me on to all those stubs in the first place. The article was deleted for being nn in the first place. All being well, a bunch of the stubs (all those failing WP:V) will get PRODded to death soon anyway; the rest should probably go the same way. Starting with any that links to Premiere Production. [edit] Your question about Geoemydidae
Hi, the modern taxonomy is ever changing with the new molecular data, the biologists have often hard times finding out the most recent version too (see [1]) It seems to me that Geoemydidae and Bataguridae are often used as synonyms for one and the same family (see for example [2]). The family contains two subfamilies (Geoemydinae and Batagurinae). I'll see if I can find some more solid source as to the current opinion about the family name :) Kaarel 02:15, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- It appears that Geoemydidae is nowadays the correct name rather than Bataguridae! I moved/renamed the page (and added some information). Kaarel 16:16, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
I appreciate your compliments and support. I am currently testing my own thoughts on the talk page for WP:Censorship. A lot of the comments I've gotten are illogical flak; so I'd appreicate it if you take a look and perhaps comment. I have a feeling you may not agree with me on this one (I'm advocating very limited structural changes to some articles with exclusive editorial oversight for the purpose of accessibility, not tolerance). I think it sounds more extreme than I mean it to be, and I may eventually find it more logical to just support existing policy. Nevertheless, I think you will find it interesting even if you decide not to comment. Thanks. Haizum 10:34, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey Gardar Rurak/Archive1, how is it going? Thank you for supporting my Request for adminship! It passed with a final vote of 73/1/1, which means that I have been granted adminship! I look forward to using these tools to enhance and maintain this wonderful site. I will continue regular article/project contributions, but I will also allocate a sizable portion of my wikischedule toward administrative duties :) Thanks again, and if you have any questions/comments/tips, please let me know! — Deckiller 04:30, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Referring to your question.
Does the entire object need to get to 20m or can it propel an object into the air? Celcius 03:00, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
The entire object has to be propelled into the air.
Can you please email me what you think would be the best material to total_revolt@hotmail.com Thank you :)
"The question was: What sort of material will work best for designing an A4 sized object to leap (or jump) over 20m from the ground? The object must not expel gas/liquid, and not require any other external devise to make it leap. Another thing is that all energy must come from the person supplying the force for the leap. Thank you for your help."
- The question is either flawed or I do not find it within my intellectual capacity to answer it to my own satisfaction. I regretfully do not have an answer for you at the present time. Regards, Celcius 05:56, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] X at the Summer Olympics
I was just wondering why the "X at the Summer Olympics" pages contains lists of medals won at the 1900 and 1896 olympics? Shouldn't these pages rather contain lists of total number of medals won in all summer olympic competitions' while the 1896 and 1900 articles should list the medals won in these years specifically? Thanks for the great work you are doing - let me know if you need a hand. Celcius 13:12, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Celcius! My goal is that eventually those tables will all have every year, along with a total line at the bottom. Gives a quick idea of how well the nation has done over time. However, I am going through year-by-year with fairly massive improvements of each edition, so it will take a while to accomplish that by myself. If you'd like to add more years and the total, that would be immensely helpful! Thanks. -- Jonel | Speak 13:34, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- Alright - I was sorta looking for something meaningful to do. Is there anything in specific I need to know before I get going? And is there a preferred avenue of approach? Celcius 13:46, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

-
- You should be able to get the medal counts from YEAR Summer Olympics medal count articles--I'm pretty sure all the data is there. Easier is to go through the XXX-Summer-Olympics templates for each country (i.e., {{FRA-Summer-Olympics}}), but not all the articles are there yet, unfortunately. -- Jonel | Speak 13:56, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, and thanks for tagging Orton Ceramic Foundation as a copyright violation. It has now been deleted.
In future, when tagging a page as a copyvio, could you please:
- Use the URL of the source in the tag (like this: {{db-copyvio|url=http://www.example.com}}
- Notify the submitter using the {{nothanks-sd}} tag on their talk page (the tag will be included in the bottom of the speedy deletion box for you to copy over)

[edit] RCC
Hi Celcius, recently you voted on a move from Roman Catholic Church to Catholic Church. That proposal was voted down, but now they're trying to accomplish the opposite: to change Catholic Church from a redirect into a disambiguation page (redundant with Catholicism, Catholicism (disambiguation), Catholic, One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, and other articles). There is an ongoing vote at Talk:Roman Catholic Church#Survey 2, and your contribution to the discussion is very much needed. In fact, there's a revert war going on at Catholic Church with some people trying to preempt the vote and create a disambig page anyway. So more voices and your contribution to the discussion in particular is very much needed! --Hyphen5 13:02, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mohammad Controversy
- I'm sorry but newspapers in Denmark can print whatever they want within Danish law. Ridiculing religion (any religion) falls within the parameters of the law. Much the same way burning flags fall within the parameters of law in most muslim countries - so you're completely entitled to do that. Why is it significant that 1.3 bil. people were offended? Would it be alright had it only been 100.000? BTW, muslims in Denmark dosn't really seem to care that much - did you remember to remove them from the number? Celcius 19:42, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
If 1.3 billion people doesnt mean anything to you, why do you consider yourself a human being? A human being differs from other beings in that s/he understands others, even if s/he doesnt appreciate it, s/he respects the values of others which don't harm anyone. To whom does the holiness of my prophet harm? Why do you hide behind the word of liberty, while the values of others dont mean anything to you? What kind of liberty are you talking about? The liberty is not touching everything else that is not important to you. Where is my liberty while you are attacking my prophet? Europe always failed to understand that for muslim their holy values precede anything else they have. Many christian religious scholars already announced christian world lost the respect for their values. But no, you dont have right to do the same thing to ours.
When it comes to the muslims in Denmark. To know what they really feel u must be one of them. How can they express their feelings in a country that causes this trouble? I cant understand your mentality, you all blame the muslims in Denmark for initiating these acts against the cartoons and then you say they dont care about the cartoons. Dont be funny.
If you are not one those ignorant couch patatoes, you should very well know that in Turkey there is a bloody terrorist group,PKK, which caused death of 30,000 people of Kurdish and Turkish people in last 2 decades in Turkey in the name of the freedom of kurdish people. My mother is a kurdish and I have never seen a discrimination or anything else related to that in Turkey. How about this? What do you call it? They are right to kill all those people?
BTW, Denmark is the only country that allows this terrorist group to broadcast their propagandas via a TV channel located in denmark that recently caused unrest and a kind of rebellion of a few hundreds people in Turkey because of the death of 14 terrorists fighting Turkish army. Freedom? Dont lie to yourself. Unveil the cover on your real intention. Dont give us liberty lecture, we have known what it means for hundreds of years. Even when people were burned alive or killed by inquisition between 1134 and 1834 in europe or when people were nailed on their heads for being blamed of being witch or enslaved and killed due to their colour in early America. Dont try to teach us what you learnt from us. Enough said for the one who is not blame.
- 1)I do care about other human beings – but the number of people is not significant. The larger the number does not mean a weightier argument. In addition the number is erroneous as you can’t possibly speak for every single Muslim in this world. This is a prominent Danish politician and Muslim and he had something to say as well:
- 2)Yes we can – we can say and do whatever we want within the limits of the law. I don’t respect conservative versions and literal interpretations of any religion be it Islam, Christianity or Hinduism and I will not lie and pretend that I do. I have the freedom to say I think you are wrong and you have the freedom to return the compliment. The freedom to stand by yourself and your beliefs – that’s the freedom I’m talking about.
- 3)10 angry imams travelled through the Middle East. They did so because they found very little support in the Danish community – including the Muslim community. Remember nothing happened for the first 4 months until the Middle East tour?
- 4)I have no idea what PKK have to do with this discussion.
- 5)What we learned from you? Who are “you” exactly and what did we learn from you and when?
- Enough for now – Wikipedia is not a debate forum – let’s continue this on either my talk page or here
