[edit] David Fernandez Tackle

I'm not really sure it is worth having this on the page, wikipedia is not supposed to be a news site anyway, and you can't mention every controversial thing that happens over the course of a given season. Considering all the controversial edits people have made, I'm up for removing any mention of it entirely. Any thoughts? Captkrob 02:26, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree, and i tried to remove it. Unfortunately while it is in the news it will keep getting added back by irate Killie fans. Perhaps the best way forward is simply to leave it for a week or so, worded in a NPOV manner. When it becomes yesterday's news, it can be removed. Rockpocket 06:23, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for keeping up with this and removing. Captkrob 20:12, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

It should never have been removed, it is as important a moment for his career (deliberately injuring another player) as scoring the winner against France. The object is to provide a complete picture of the individual in question, not merely to praise them. Without including something on the Fernandez incident no-one familiar with Scottish football would recognise it as a fair portrait!
