I've rewritten and expanded the article (and appeared to have got logged out in the process...) and thus removed the stub tags. I struggled a bit with structuring his career in a meaningful way, and hope that I've got it right. Naturally, feel free to disagree and rewrite. A purely linear timeline seemed wrong though, and his Reviews deserve special mention, IMHO.
To do:
- His research - I've said little, apart from what I could crib from press releases. Hopefully these will be available in obituaries. It looks like he moved into being a powerhouse player in policy and admin when he was VC at Sheffield, but is that true?
- Categories - I'm aware there are others, but what?
- Early career
- Personal life - where in Wales was he born etc
- Photo (with permission etc)
- and (fill in this blank!)
