Source	Patch donated from Ernest Séguin, school music teacher, to CyclePat (circa. 1996). Image scanned via an HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One (Jan 2008).

Portion used	1) The design is claimed to be copyrighted since 2008 via ESC Garneau website (see here] 2) There is no information on copyright status of the circa 1996 logo. 3) The colours in the current logo are slightly different from the the 2008 logo (see here). 4) The copyright status is arguable: Wikipedia has a precedence, created by the article Xavier College, which shows an image of a historical school logo released into the public domain. However a more recent version of the logo, copyrighted, is also being used for the school. 5) The scanned image work, by user:CyclePat, is released under GFDL.

Purpose of use	Fair use of school logo within the respective wikipedia article
Replaceable?	It is currently impossible to replace this image with anything else under GFDL. The author of the logo is unknown. Even if he was known through calling the school or further investigations, the image could probably not be released under GFDL unless done so by the author himself. Furthermore, since the logo is currently copyrighted the author would need to publicly contradict the current 2008 copyright status in a verifiable source, if he so wished for the image to be within GFDL. Finally, this image depicts the logo of a school in respect to the epoch or it's time of creation (circa 1996). The current 2008 logo (found here) is different and can not replace the image.
